The New York City College of Technology (City Tech) offers two nursing programs, the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree and the Bachelor of Science (BS) degree program for Registered Nurses. Health care is one of the most rapidly expanding industries in the nation and our degree programs in nursing are two of the college's most competitive offerings. The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree is fully accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and is approved by the New York State Education Department. Based on Watson's Theory of Caring, the program emphasizes the knowledge and skills required to become a registered professional nurse. In addition to nursing courses, the program includes study in the biological sciences, psychology and general education. The Bachelor of Science (BS) degree program is for Registered Nurses who want to become nurse leaders and managers as well as develop their critical thinking and research skills. The BS program is accredited by the New York State Education Department and is a candidate for accreditation by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission. .
