Committees

Representatives from all BHIX Participants are invited to participate in the BHIX Committee structure. BHIX seeks input from Participants taking part in the health information exchange project in order to promote collaborative and transparent decision-making.

The BHIX Committees work and cross-pollinate to develop solutions to address the key components of successful and sustainable health information exchange. The Privacy and Consumer Communications Committee recommends ways to ensure patient privacy and to engage patients to participate in BHIX. The Technical and Security Committee BHIX Committees is involved in recommending how to ensure patient privacy by building privacy and security protections into the technical aspects of the project. The Clinical, Quality and Evaluation Committee provides a venue in which doctors and other practitioners make sure clinical care priorities to drive the technology implementation. The Finance Committee oversees the financial integrity of the project. The Steering Committee oversees the work of all the other operating Committees and makes recommendations to the BHIX Board of Directors.
